19th International Oil Summit

About the International Oil Summit

The International Oil Summit is an annual gathering of Energy and Oil Ministers, Heads of IEA, OPEC and IEF, CEOs and key industry leaders, from IOCs, NOCs and service sector, to discuss the most relevant issues of the oil sector.  Over the past years, the Summit has been the circle for policy makers and industry leaders to exchange views on ways and means to address a large spectrum of oil related issues such as securing investment and meeting future oil demand, addressing oil market volatility and its effects on investment, improving dialogue among producing and consuming countries, and between oil and service companies on project management and risk sharing.

The 19th edition of the International Oil Summit

The 2018 edition of the Summit will examine how industry is adjusting to a new oil price environment and assess impact of such adjustments on global oil and energy security. Participants in the 19th International Oil Summit will discuss how to secure investment and meet future oil demand, make successful arrangements leading to long lasting partnerships between NOCs and IOCs, and implement new collaborative schemes on project management and risk sharing between oil companies and service and equipment sector. Through four very interactive sessions, the 19th International Oil Summit will discuss some key questions and challenges facing oil and service industry as well as producing and consuming governments.

Global Dialogue Session (IEA, IEF and OPEC):
• Are we entering a new price cycle?
• Is there a price range where both producers and consumers meet their energy policy objectives?
• Are new uncertainties affecting both oil supply and oil demand harming global energy security?

Ministerial Keynotes:
• How does present oil market environment impact global energy security in the short, medium and long term? How to reduce oil market volatility and secure investment needed in order to meet present and future oil demand? What does it take to align local and global energy mix with commitments to reduce climate change without harming energy security?

Oil Companies CEOs Keynotes:
• How could sustainable strategies for upstream development be shaped in the new market environment?
• Do oil companies need to re-think their business models in the wake of new uncertainties over oil price direction and future threats to oil demand?
• Will new upstream investments meet future demand or will there be gap in oil supply in 2020 and beyond?

Service Sector Panel:
• What strategies have companies across the upstream sector, from service companies to operators, both onshore and offshore, employed to emerge in better position after the downturn in global crude prices?
• Innovative collaboration: what’s next for IOCs, NOCs and service companies?
• Can recent cost savings be sustained under higher oil prices? Is there a room for further cost reduction?

The genuine debate in the Paris International Oil Summit has tremendously benefited from the participation of high caliber speakers such as Energy and/or Oil Ministers of Algeria, India, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, … as well as CEOs and leaders from the petroleum industry such as Anadarko, BP, Chevron, CGG, Halliburton, Hellenic Petroleum, IFP Energies Nouvelles, Perenco, Petrobras, Repsol, Saudi Aramco, Schlumberger, Shell, Sonatrach, Statoil, Total, TechnipFMC, Vallourec, Saipem, etc.
