Frédéric LANTZ est titulaire d’un DEA en économétrie et économie mathématique (1982) et d’un doctorat en économie (1984) – Université de Paris X-Nanterre. Il a également reçu une accréditation pour superviser la recherche (2004). Il a rejoint l’IFP School en 1991 après une première expérience en recherche dans le domaine de l’économétrie et de la modélisation bio-économique à l’Ifremer, où il faisait partie du groupe de travail Mer du Nord pour la Commission européenne. Il enseigne l’économie de l’énergie, l’économétrie et la recherche opérationnelle pour l’énergie et l’environnement. Parallèlement, ses travaux de recherche l’ont impliqué dans le développement des outils de modélisation économique d’IFP Energies nouvelles. Il est en charge du Master en économie de l’environnement, de l’énergie et des transports coaccrédité avec l’Université Paris-Saclay, l’Université Paris Nanterre et l’ENPC.
